At Tenants UK Housing (TUK), we exist to provide safe, supportive, and sustainable housing solutions for vulnerable individuals across Birmingham. Our work is rooted in ethical delivery, long-term social impact, and a deep commitment to community empowerment.
In 2018, TUK brought forward a pioneering supported exempt accommodation project to Ash-Shahada Housing Association (ASHA). Since then, TUK has served as the managing partner of ASHA, leading on strategy, property growth, and service delivery to ensure sustainable and ethical expansion.
To meet the scale of housing need, TUK introduced a proprietary lease-based model — a scalable, efficient, and ethically-driven housing delivery mechanism that has already made a significant and measurable impact.
This innovative approach has enabled ASHA to dramatically grow its supported housing stock across Birmingham, directly increasing the number of safe, regulated homes available to vulnerable individuals. As a result, ASHA is now on track to deliver 5,000 supported housing units by the end of 2025 — a major contribution to addressing the city’s housing crisis.
Our partnership with Ash-Shahada Housing Association reflects a shared mission to expand access to social housing at a time when the city is facing increasing levels of housing need.
This supported exempt accommodation project was launched to ensure that vulnerable individuals — including those at risk of homelessness — have access to safe, dignified, and well-managed homes. But this isn’t just about buildings. It’s about creating pathways to independence, wellbeing, and long-term stability.
At TUK, we understand that secure housing is just the first step. That’s why our accommodation is paired with wraparound support tailored to each tenant’s needs, which can include:
We work closely with trusted partners and support providers to ensure that residents are not only housed but empowered to thrive.
At inception, TUK and ASHA envisaged any surplus generated from the SEA project to be reinvested back into Social Housing in Birmingham, ensuring we continue to grow our impact where it’s needed most.
This reinvestment enables us to:
We are proud to be impact-led, placing people at the heart of every decision and ensuring that our work delivers lasting change — not short-term solutions.
