Inner City Life/ Second City are a support provider who run a food bank in partnership with Tenants UK Housing. The food bank is in Hockley and is by appointment only, vouchers are available from your support worker, who can help arrange a visit.
ASHA/ TUK have a dedicated Tenancy Support Officer who helps prepare resident to move on, helping them to submit various applications which can help you get settled in your new accommodation. Follow on support is available for up to six weeks.
There are a number of local charities who sell furniture at a cheap rate to people in need. They can help you when you are ready to move on to your own place. Visit, Ladywood Furniture Project, Upcycle in Castle Vale, City Mission and Birmingham Community Transport for more info.
Your support worker can advise you on basic debt issues and help put together a budgeting plan. For more specialist advice you can contact Citizens Advice Bureau or Money Advice Service.
